After having no action for 24 days, Manchester United are back in the mix and host Leeds United in a Monday night English Premier League fixture.

Manchester United’s last taste of Premier League action was on March 20 when they were held to a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. They led twice through Bruno Fernandes and a James Hill own goal, but could not see out the win. 

Despite not holding out for the win, the result was enough to keep Manchester United third in the table, and they are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 matches. The Red Devils are back at Old Trafford, where they have won their last five matches. 

Manchester United are solid going forward and have scored in their last 10 matches, with the last four fixtures producing over 2.5 goals. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of the last six matches in this run.
 

Leeds United News 


Leeds United have some breathing room above the relegation zone, sitting three points clear of the bottom three. They will be keen to maintain that buffer and are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions, although only two of those fixtures have been regulation time wins.

Daniel Farke's team played out a 0-0 home draw with Brentford last time out in the Premier League and beat West Ham on penalties to reach the FA Cup semi-final. However, they will be keen to get some improvement in their travels, having failed to win in their last 12 Premier League away matches. 

Leeds United have failed to keep a clean sheet in 13 of their last 15 away matches across all competitions. However, they have scored in 11 of those fixtures, while four of their last seven away matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

Manchester United have 18 wins, while Leeds United have picked up four victories with nine draws in the last 31 matches. Both teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in January. 

Verdict

Manchester United have been solid at home, winning their last five matches at Old Trafford. With Leeds United not particularly convincing on their travels, the Red Devils are expected to claim the upper hand here.
 
Both teams often look vulnerable in defence and could be backed to score on Monday. With Manchester United’s last four matches producing over 2.5 goals, a similar outcome could be on the cards in this clash.
